Virtual Sessions

There’s no doubt that this quarantine has been tough all around :(

Right now, we all have a duty to social distance and stay at home. And let’s face it, it may be like this for a while…

Not being able to photograph in person has been very hard for me as well as for my clients. I get the most fulfillment from shooting in person and I know you are missing that connection too!

However, with this extra time at home it dawned on me that I could offer what I do in the studio through virtual sessions. This fun little project turned into an opportunity to empower my clients and make them feel good again all while staying safe in our separate homes!

Kate has done such a great job offering virtual photo shoots while we are all locked up at home. She makes you feel so comfortable and in your element! It’s such a unique way to get creative in your own home. Kate guides you through each pose and helps suggest outfit and makeup ideas so you can really feel your best. These virtual photoshoots are a fun way to get out of the isolation-funk, feel creative and gain confidence. During a time of so much uncertainty and doubt, doing something creative like this for yourself helps ease your mind and temporarily focus on something good, something positive, instead of all of the negatives that are thrown out at us on social media. This is such a wonderful way to use technology to connect individuals on a creative level.

FAQ

HOW DOES THIS WORK??
You can use a laptop, iPad or phone for a virtual session. Using a phone works best for overall image quality. If you are using an iPhone or iPad we will use FaceTime and if you are using a Laptop or Android we will use Zoom. Once we start the session I will have you take me on a quick tour of your space so I can see how the lighting is and how it shows up on our devices and I will instruct you on where to set it up. I recommend having something that’s sturdy to lean your device against (having a phone stand or tripod is extra handy!). As for lighting… we will have to work with it! Some of the images above were taken using a makeup ring light which helped a lot with the quality. If you don’t have one that’s totally okay! These images are meant to look filmy, artsy and vintage. At the end of your session I will take your images, edit them and send you a link with up to 10 digital images that are yours to share as you please.

CAN MY PARTNER HELP TAKE THE PHOTOS?
YES, ABSOLUTELY! This will help us create higher quality images. You can have your partner hold the device or your partner can take photos on another phone or device while I direct and pose you throughout the session. At the end of the shoot you will forward me 10 images you love (if taken on another device) and I will edit them with my style and flair. As we cannot go out and do much, this could make for a fun activity/date night for the two of you… owww owww!

WHAT DO I WEAR?
Literally anything that you have in your closet will work! If you are wanting to do something more intimate I recommend wearing lingerie, bodysuits, swimsuits, etc. If you really want to spice it up we can do some nude or do some shots of you playing in the sheets but that’s totally up to you and at your discretion!

MY SPACE IS NOT PHOTO-WORTHY, WHAT DO I DO?
We honestly don’t need much to create beautiful images! A bed, couch, chair, window, even just a blank wall will work. As with any session, the main focus is YOU!

IS THIS A SUBSTITUTE FOR A FULL PHOTO SESSION WITH YOU?
This is meant to be temporary substitution until things are back to normal. These sessions do not replace the FULL experience I offer my clients which normally includes professional makeup, 1-2 hours shooting in the studio, and a chance to purchase high quality images and products. The images from a virtual session do however make for some pretty cool memories and are a good way to positively document this hard time we are all going through!
